Kona Photographer – Bob Brown
I came to the island in 2000 and planned on staying for 3 months. Little did I know that I would still be here on the Big Island 18 years later. When I first came to the island I was a full time volunteer at a missions agency called Youth With a Mission, I served for 4 years in the media department capturing photos on campus as well as traveling around the world taking images of people in need as well as the great things our teams were doing.
In 2002 I married my beautiful wife Naomi and gained a 12 year son. It is amazing how much your life can change…. We will be celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary this year and I am so thankful for having them in my life. In 2004 we had our second son Calvin who is now 13 years old and is starting to help Dad on photo shoots.
I discovered years ago that I have a passion and joy to meet people and capture their images, which makes being a portrait and wedding photographer such a great match. I can’t even count how many times I have left a shoot thankful to have met the wonderful people I just photographed and hoping that they had as wonderful of a time that I did.
When we are not on shoots we are very active with our local church, www.konabiblechurch.org, love to hike, have a fire pit on the beach with ukulele in hand and go sailing.
